Who is behind "CaptiveHeart"?

Welcome to CaptiveHeart Photography! My name is Samantha, and I live in Frederick Maryland. I am a wife to a Veteran and a mother of 3, with a passion for photography.

My husband and I relocated our family to Frederick Maryland from Central Florida in 2017 due to my husbands job. However, I was born and raised in North Florida, never in a million years would this country girl think she would be living states away from home and close to mountains lol. We have 2 beautiful little girls and a handsome little boy who keep me busy! Some of the things we love to do together are going to the airport and watching the planes come and go, play at the park, go to festivals, take walks, sing, and dance.

Our middle daughter was recently diagnosed with being on the Autism Spectrum (PDA), Being a mom to an autistic child means embracing a journey that’s both deeply challenging and immensely rewarding. Every day brings unique experiences that broaden my understanding of patience, resilience, and unconditional love. I learn so much from my child, whose perspective on the world is refreshingly unique and who teaches me to celebrate the small victories. While some days can be tough, with unexpected hurdles and moments of exhaustion, those moments are balanced by the pure joy of watching my child flourish in their own way and at their own pace. This journey has made me a stronger, more compassionate person, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. It’s not always easy, but it’s always filled with love.

Animal Lover (We have 1 dog, Penny, who is a Basenji Terrier mix she is such a lazy loving dog, and 3 cats Leo the scardy cat and Ivy the mama kitty, Ask me why I call them that haha, and little Roo).
Coffee Lover (You can catch me drinking a hot coffee out of my Keurig, until I have microwaved it to many times or forgotten about it all together cause lets be honest #MomLife :) or an iced caramel macchiato from Starbucks add the extra whip cream YUM.
I am a wimp when it comes to the cold and snow - but that doesn't stop me from going out to enjoy it every once in a while. (I am a Florida Girl after all...)
Dance parties in the living room might be my all time favorite thing.
A few years ago, I was just a mom with a camera. Now I have a thriving photography business ❤️

I love photographing people and capturing the connections between them. Whether that be a soon to be married couple, family, newborns, etc. I try to work with as much natural light as possible and usually work with families in their home, or favorite outdoor location. My end goal is to capture a moment and create that lasting memory for families to cherish for a lifetime.
